Ages and Ages Later

(geez, the urgency to post is high in this place!)

Hi all!! Have been wanting to post for a while but not finding the time to. Anyways, life is like a roller coaster now. A constant juggling act between family, friends, work, personal things, and church. Somewhere between fall and winter, time has decided to speed up. Feels like hours fade like minutes and the days just roll by like it’s nothing. A year is like six months now. And practically every adult I mention this to replies, “It’s only gonna get faster the older you get!” GREAT… The NW Youth Conference happened at such an awesome time for me cause it was the weekend before I would start my new job and I was STRESSED out. Not just for the new job but trying to manage time between everything so as not to forget other important things. Such as family time, friends, and most important my time with God. Taking the weekend off and just experiencing God’s love and presence at a different level was amazing. Two things really stood out to me the most: Obeying God without questioning His reasons and worshipping Him in the midst of our everyday lives and activities. Good stuff…

It’s been a year already?!

Wow…I can’t believe it’s been a year since I came here. Feels like it was just yesterday that I walked into Houck middle school on a sunday and gave my life to Christ. It still amazes me how God can change circumstances from despair and loss, that took years to accomplish, to hope and love in just a few days. It’s insane when I think about it.

Wouldn’t trade it for anything! :)

HS vs COLLEGE

College is supposed to be alot easier than high school right? WRONG!

I  have been more stressed than ever since I started college. I mean picking my own classes at my preferred day and time is all good, but the work load is just something else. I swear the teachers sit at their conferences and conspire about ways they can load us up on work and projects. I mean since the beginning of this term I’ve had pages and pages of reading to do… no one can possibly read and expect to retain information on two whole chapters unless they don’t have some sort of social life.

Oh and wait, before I forget…Teachers plan tests on same days on purpose… And they tell you that they understand that you have other classes that needs your attention as well. Then they go and give you a test date similar to two or three of your other classes… AAArgh!!!

Ok I feel better now!! Thanks for listening!

Ok…So I’ve decided that Lanny Pagett is the most influential person I’ve ever met. Of course it’s all God… Every one of his teachings, since I became a believer, has spoken to some area of my life. I mean like, most of the time he knows what I need prayer for before I even say anything.

Anyways, in his message today (5/6/2007) what stood out the most for me was Colossians 3: 23 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.” It stood out for me sooo much cause I’ve been having issues at work with my boss alot lately. Most of the time I don’t want to go to work cause I know we’re going to disagree about something some time during my shift. His message just encouraged me to have a different attitude about the whole thing. Something to think about…
